New Delhi: British Prime Minister Liz Truss Resigns has resigned from her post. She will remain in the post till the next PM is elected. “I couldn’t do what I was chosen for,” she said outside Downing Street. Truss said she had informed King Charles that she was resigning as leader of the Conservative Party. It is noteworthy that, she remained in the PM’s post for only six weeks. It is worth mentioning that Truss remained the Prime Minister for only 45 days. This is the shortest tenure of any British Prime Minister.

Within weeks after Liz Truss took office as prime minister, her party was revolted by mismanagement of the economy. Meanwhile, two ministers from his party have resigned from their posts. According to reports, amid the ongoing political turmoil in Britain, members of the Conservative Party are regretting their decision to elect Liz Truss as a leader.

Government is in disarray
Significantly, several leaders of the Conservative Party said that Lige Truss should resign from his position. However, the PM had said on this that she would not resign. Conservative Party MP Simon Hoare said the government had become disorganized.

A warrior rather than a runaway
The lease truss had earlier described itself as a warrior rather than a runaway’. Her statement was issued when she was facing strong opposition from her own Conservative Party over poor economic planning.
