London: Defense Minister Ben Wallace and top military commander Isolation after Britain’s Armed Forces Chief General Sir Nick Carter was found infected with the Coronavirus. On behalf of the National Health Service (NHS) ‘Test and Trace’ app, the Cabinet Minister and the head of the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, and Strategic Command have been asked to stay at home for a period of 10 days after coming in contact with Sir Nick.

General Sir Mark Carlton-Smith, a subordinate of Sir Nick and the head of the British Army, also spent the weekend in isolation, awaiting the results of the PCR test, The Daily Telegraph reported. He had attended a meeting though maintained physical distance from the commander. A Defense Ministry spokesman said, “During routine COVID-19 checks, the Chief of Defense Staff was found infected.”

“The people present at the meeting of seniors with him last week are in self-isolation as per government guidelines, including the Defense Minister,” the spokesperson said. During the isolation of the commander, the operation of military activities will be done in a digital way. The meeting being discussed took place on Thursday by Sir Nick at the Defense Academy in Shrivenham, Oxfordshire, which was attended by Ben Wallace, Vice-Chairman of the Defense Staff, Admiral Sir Tim Fraser, and Sir Mark, among many senior officials.

It is being told that social distance was fully followed in this meeting, but some people still came in contact with Sir Nick. Sir Nick was found infected the very next day after the meeting. He also appeared at the Chalke Valley History Festival on Friday after the meeting.
