Port of Spain: West Indies all-rounder and Dwayne Bravo became the first bowler to take 500 wickets in this shortest format of cricket, playing in various T20 leagues in the world. Bravo achieved this feat by dismissing opener Rakim Cornwall in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), playing against Saint Lucia Jocks for the Trinbago Knight Riders. Trinibago won the rain-affected match by six wickets.

Bravo, a medium-speed bowler, achieved this feat in 459 T20 matches, whereas of now it is difficult for any other bowler to reach. Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga is the second-highest bowler in the T20s after Bravo (501 wickets) with 390 wickets in his name. He is followed by Sunil Narayan (383), Imran Tahir (374), Sohail Tanvir (356) and Shakib Al Hasan (354). Bravo has played 40 Tests, 164 ODIs, and 71 T20 Internationals for the West Indies.
