
New Delhi: Select Honda dealers have started taking bookings for the upcoming Honda City Facelift in Mumbai. The mid-size sedan will get a slightly better design and updated interiors with a powertrain matched to RDE and E20 fuel. Its market launch will happen in the coming weeks (likely on March 2, 2023). The model lineup in the new 2023 Honda City facelift will get new entry-level variants with petrol-hybrid powertrains.
There will be no diesel engine option this time. Honda has discontinued its diesel engine due to the upcoming RDE (Real Driving Emission) norms. The sedan will be made available with 121bhp. 15L petrol and 126bhp, Atkinson cycle 1.5L petrol hybrid powertrain. The first model will be available with 6-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox options, with the latter getting an e-CVT transmission.
5 new color options
Externally, the new 2023 Honda City facelift will get slightly revised front and rear bumpers and new design alloy wheels. The carmaker may introduce a new color scheme. Currently, the sedan comes in 5 color options – Lunar Silver Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Golden Brown Metallic.

Price
With minor updates, the new City is expected to be priced at around Rs 1 to Rs 1.5 lakh premium over the current model. The latter falls within the price range of Rs 11.87 lakh – Rs 15.52 lakh (ex-showroom).
In other updates, the Japanese automaker has confirmed the debut of its upcoming new mid-size SUV. The car will rival the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder. The name of the new Honda SUV can be Honda Elevate. Based on the revised platform of the Amaze, the model could come with 1.5L i-VTEC petrol and 1.5L Atkinson cycle hybrid powertrain options. On the feature front, there could be Honda Sensing Tech (ADAS) with a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability management, 6 airbags, electronic stability control, and more.
