Mumbai: Mumbai was on high alert Tuesday as an IndiGo flight from Chennai to Mumbai was met with a bomb threat, prompting an emergency landing at 10:30 pm. The aircraft, carrying an undisclosed number of passengers, was swiftly isolated upon touchdown at Mumbai Airport. Under the vigilant eyes of the Central Industrial Security Force, passengers were safely evacuated before a meticulous inspection ensued.
The alarming threat emerged from a call received at IndiGo’s New Delhi center, leading to immediate adherence to stringent safety protocols. “IndiGo flight 6E5149 from Chennai to Mumbai received a bomb threat,” the airline confirmed in a press release. “After landing in Mumbai, the crew followed the protocol and took it to a remote location at the airport.”
This aviation incident coincided with a city-wide panic as over 50 hospitals and the Hinduja College of Commerce were rattled by bomb threats via email earlier that day. The anonymous threats claimed explosives were hidden under hospital beds and in bathrooms, set to detonate imminently. Despite thorough searches by bomb squads and police teams, no explosives were discovered.

The source of these threats was traced back to Beeble.com, sent using VPN networks to cloak the sender’s identity. Among those targeted were prominent institutions like Jaslok Hospital, Raheja Hospital, and KEM Hospital. While the motives remain unclear, authorities continue to investigate the source and intent behind these disturbing threats.
