San Francisco (US): Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said on Friday that it was wrong to block the web link of an unverified political news item. He tweeted, “Blocking the URL was wrong and we have updated our policy and taken steps to fix it. Our goal is to try to add context and now we have the ability to do so. ”

An official of a social media company announced changes late Thursday night to its (company’s) policy on hacked content following criticism. Vijay Gadde, the company’s head of legal, policy, trust, and security affairs said in a Twitter thread that Twitter will no longer remove hacked content unless it is shared directly by hackers or those who work with them. Ho. They said that instead of blocking the link from being shared, they would be asked to provide context for the tweet.

Notably, Twitter and Facebook have shown readiness this week to limit the spread of news published by the New York Post, who have a traditionalist bent. These social media sites noted that unverified emails from the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son have been traced by colleagues of President Donald Trump. However, this news was not confirmed by other publications.

Twitter initially responded by banning people from sharing the link to the news in tweets and direct messages (DM) as it violated the company’s policy of prohibiting hacked content. But it did not warn users (users using Twitter) about why they could not share the link.
