Durg: A major accident occurred at Bhilai Steel Plant operated by Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in the Durg district of Chhattisgarh. The ladle exploded in the Steel Melting Shop (SMS)-3 of the steel plant. Due to the explosion of the ladle of SMS-3, 20 tonnes of hot metal have been washed away. After this, a huge fire broke out around. It is a matter of relief that no one was injured in the accident, but the management is fearing a loss of crores of rupees.

According to the information received, Hot Metal was being taken for casting after being purified on Sunday. But during this time the ladle exploded and this accident happened. This is the second major accident within a week. Earlier on Thursday, 120 tonnes of hot metal were washed away due to the ladle burst. Even at that time, cables and control rooms worth crores were completely burnt in the horrific arson. Now BMS executive president Chinna Keshavalu has blamed the BSP management for the accident due to the frequent accidents.

The personnel saved their lives by running away from there. After the accident, the production of bars had come to a standstill for a few hours. Due to this, a big financial loss was caused to the Bhilai Steel Plant Management.
