Different rules for all states
According to the RBI website, the bank will be closed for a total of 5 days in the month of May (Bank Holidays List May 2021). However, in the list of holidays given on the RBI website, there are some holidays that are effective only at the local state level. Explain that there will not be a 5-day holiday in all the states because some festivals or festivals are not celebrated together in the whole country.

  • 1 May 2021 is Maharashtra Day / May Day. Labor Day is celebrated on this day. Banks of some states will remain closed on this day. Such as Kolkata, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Imphal, Bengaluru and Belapur.
  • Banks will remain closed on 7 May 2021 on the occasion of Jumat-ul-Vida. This day is Friday. The last jumma of Ramadan will be offered namaz. On this occasion only banks in Jammu and Srinagar will remain closed.
  • Id-Ul-Fitr is on 13 May 2021. In such a situation, banks will be closed on this day in Belapur, Jammu, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Srinagar and Tiruvananthapuram.
  • 14 May 2021, Lord Shri Parashuram Jayanti / Ramadan-Eid (Eid-UI-Fitra / Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya). This day is falling on Friday. Many cities will not have functioning in banks.
  • Buddha Pournima on 26 May 2021. On this day banks will be closed in Agartala, Belapur, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi and Shimla and Srinagar.

Even on this day, there will be no work
Apart from the bank holiday, the second and fourth Saturdays of the month are falling on 8 and 22 May. There will be no work in banks on this day. Apart from this, there are Sunday holidays on 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 May.
