Bajaj Dominar 400 gets E27.5 flex fuel

New Delhi: Bajaj Auto has introduced a new variant of its flagship motorcycle, the Dominar 400, at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024. The new variant is capable of running on ethanol-blended fuels of up to 27.5 percent, making it more eco-friendly and cost-effective.

The Dominar 400 E27.5 is an upgrade from the existing model, which is compliant with E20 fuels. Bajaj Auto said that it wanted to increase the ethanol blending ratio to E27.5, as it would reduce the dependence on fossil fuels and lower carbon emissions. However, the Dominar 400 E27.5 is still not as green as some of the other bikes displayed at the expo, which could run on ethanol blends of up to 85 percent.

Apart from the E27.5-compliant engine, the Dominar 400 E27.5 retains the same features and specifications as the regular model. It is powered by a 373cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 39.5bhp of power at 8,800rpm and 35Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission with a slipper clutch.

The Dominar 400 E27.5 also boasts a host of premium features, such as full-LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, negative-LCD instrument cluster, 43mm upside-down front forks, gas-charged rear mono-shock, 320mm front disc brake, and 230mm rear disc brake. The bike has a curb weight of 187kg and a fuel tank capacity of 13 liters.
