News agency ANI quoted BRO officials as saying that 27 tourists have been rescued so far after an avalanche hit the Jawaharlal Nehru road connecting Gangtok to Nathula. It has been told that after removing the snow from the road, 350 tourists and 80 vehicles stuck on the way have also been evacuated safely.
