Visakhapatnam: Australia defeated India by 10 wickets in the second ODI played at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium in Visakhapatnam. With this, the ODI series has been leveled at 1-1. Opener Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh, who came out to bat for Australia, shared an unbeaten 121-run partnership on 66 balls. Both the batsmen scored half-centuries. Australia’s opener and fast bowlers wrote the story of the victory of the match. Earlier, under the leadership of Mitchell Starc (5 wickets), Sean Abbott took 3 wickets and Nathan Ellis took two wickets.
All out for 117 runs
Team India, who came out to bat first, was dismissed by Australia for 117 runs in 26 overs. India’s third-lowest score to date. Starc, who took three wickets in the previous match, took five wickets for 53 runs, four of which were taken in the first spell. This is India’s third-lowest score against Australia. Sean Abbott took three wickets for 23 runs and Nathan Ellis took two wickets for 13 runs. None of the Indian batsmen could face the Australian bowlers.
Virat Kohli scored 31 off 35 balls while Akshar Patel played an unbeaten 29 which included two sixes. Starc dismissed Shubman Gill (0), Rohit Sharma (13), Suryakumar Yadav (0), and KL Rahul (9). He also broke the partnership of Kohli and Rohit Sharma after Gill was dismissed without opening the account in the first over.
Rohit was caught by Steve Smith in the first slip. Surya Pagbadha got out on the next ball, he was also dismissed on the first ball in the previous match. He dismissed KL Rahul (nine) lbw in the ninth over. Abbott caught Hardik Pandya (1) in the hands of Smith on the first ball of the 10th over. Kohli and Jadeja shared a 22-run partnership for the sixth over but Nathan Ellis broke the partnership and took Kohli’s valuable wicket. Jadeja became his next victim and was caught behind the wicket.
