According to the news, so far around 126 people have died in the floods with 5 more deaths. According to the information of Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 4 children drowned at different places in Barpeta, Cachar, Darrang, Karimganj, and Morigaon districts. Apart from this, many people are still missing. More than 22,21,500 people have been reported affected by the Assam floods.

Let us tell you that a large amount of flood water is coming into the rivers of Assam from the neighboring country of Bhutan. Due to this, there has been severe flooding in the rivers of Assam. According to the information, about 7 lakh people have been badly affected in Barpeta, 5.13 lakh in Nagaon, and 2.77 lakh in Cachar. So far more than 5000 villages in Assam have been affected by the floods.

To deal with the floods in Assam, the government administration is continuously doing relief work on a war footing. About 1,912 people have been rescued from different areas in Assam floods in the last 24 hours along with paramilitary forces, army, NDRF, civil administration, trained volunteers, emergency service personnel including the fire brigade, and local people. In the past, there were reports of more than 25 lakh people being affected in 30 districts.

It is worth noting that in this flood of Assam, areas like Balaji, Baksa, Barpeta, Cachar, Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Golaghat, Hailakandi, Nalbari, Sonitpur, etc. are affected by more floods. As per the information of ASDMA, at present 2,542 villages are submerged. About 74,706.77 acres of agriculture have been damaged in these areas. Apart from this, 682 relief camps and distribution centers are being run in 23 districts. More than 2,17,413 people have taken shelter in these relief camps.
