New Delhi: Indian archer Tarundeep Rai has reached the pre-quarterfinals of the men’s singles on July 28 at the Tokyo Olympics. He defeated Ukraine’s Oleksii Hunbin 6-4 in the round of 32 (1/32 Eliminations).
The 37-year-old army archer, who is playing his third Olympics, was at one time 2-4 behind the Ukrainian player but scored three ‘perfect 10’ scores to win the last two sets and win the match. World No. 54 Rai will now face Israel’s Itay Shaini, who is ranked lower than him.
