New Delhi: The most awaited and the big event of the American tech giant and iPhone maker Apple is going to be held on March 8. In this event, the company can launch a new ‘budget’ iPhone and MacBook Air as well as many more devices. Ahead of the launch, experts believe that the price of the upcoming iPhone may exceed expectations, yet it could be a significant factor in the company’s sales in India in 2022.
The company has shared information about the timing of the event by posting its logo on its official site. Apple is calling this event ‘Peak Performance’. This event will start on March 8, at 10 am. You can watch this event on apple.com and Apple TV app.
The budget iPhone belongs to the company’s ‘SE’ line-up device. It was first introduced in 2016 and allowed users to enter the iOS ecosystem at a much lower cost than their flagship iPhone. The iPhone SE line-up uses the company’s latest-generation mobile processors, but typically features an older design and a comparatively basic overall feature set.
Key role in company’s record shipments
This year Apple is expected to launch the third iPhone SE launched in 2020, which played a key role in the company’s record shipments in India in 2021.
According to a market report by Counterpoint Research in February, Apple’s shipments in India doubled to a record 6 million units in 2021. Counterpoint’s research director Tarun Pathak had said at the time that the company’s shipments could grow by 25 percent by 2022.
