New Delhi: The Election Commission has announced by-elections to 3 Lok Sabha (Lok sabha Bypolls) and 30 Assembly seats (Assembly Election By-polls). The commission has decided to conduct the polling on 30 October and counting of votes on 2 November in all the seats. In this regard, the process of nomination will start from October 1 and nominations can be filled till October 8. The three Lok Sabha seats where by-elections will be held include Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Khandwa Lok Sabha seat of Madhya Pradesh and Mandi region of Himachal Pradesh.
At the same time, apart from 3 Lok Sabha seats, the Election Commission has also announced by-elections for a total of 30 assembly seats in 14 states. For the last several months and days, 30 assembly seats were vacant due to various reasons. 1 of Andhra Pradesh, 5 of Assam, 2 of Bihar, 1 of Haryana, 3 of Himachal Pradesh, 2 of Karnataka, 3 of Madhya Pradesh, 1 of Maharashtra, 3 of Meghalaya, 1 of Mizoram, 1 of Nagaland, and 2 of Rajasthan, The Election Commission has announced the dates for one assembly seat in Telangana and four in West Bengal.
After completing the process of by-elections for 3 seats of Lok Sabha and 30 seats of Vidhan Sabha, the Election Commission will focus on the preparations for the assembly elections of 5 states. Elections are proposed in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur in February-March next year.
