An eminent leader of the Indo-American community, Dr. Ajay Lodha dies due to covid-19 related problems

New York: Indian-American physician and community leader Ajay Lodha have died of covid-19 related problems. The former president of the American Association of Physicians (AAPI) of Indian descent has been undergoing treatment for covid-19 related problems at the Cleveland Clinic for the past eight months and breathed his last on November 21. He was 58 years old. He is survived by his wife Smita, a son Amit and a daughter Shweta.

The Consulate General of India in New York tweeted, “A prominent leader of the Indian-American community, Dr. I am very sad to hear the news of Ajay Lodha’s demise. He will always be in our hearts. His humanity, kindness and his contribution to the society will always inspire everyone. ” AAPI president Sudhakar Jonalnagadda called him a “visionary leader” and mourned his death, saying “his death is the darkest day in the history of AAPI.”

The newly elected chairman of AAPI, Dr. Many people including Anupama Sudhakar, President of ‘Jaipur Foot USA’ Prem Bhandari, former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje have expressed grief over her demise.

Lodha also served as former president of the Rajasthan Association of North America and the Rajasthan Medical Alumni Association and director of the research department at Flushing Hospital in New York.
