Mumbai: In a grand ceremony held at the Dinanath Mangeshkar Natyagrih in Mumbai, the legendary Amitabh Bachchan was bestowed with the esteemed ‘Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar Award’. The award, which recognizes individuals for their exceptional contributions to music, art, culture, and social work, was presented to Mr. Bachchan amidst the presence of notable personalities, including actor Randeep Hooda.
During the event, Amitabh Bachchan expressed his gratitude for the honor and reminisced about a cherished memory with the late Bharat Ratna awardee, Lata Mangeshkar. Fulfilling her request, he sang ‘Aap Mere Angne Mein’, setting a warm and welcoming tone for the evening.
The award ceremony was not just a celebration of Mr. Bachchan’s achievements but also a tribute to the memory of Lata Mangeshkar, whose contributions to Indian music remain unparalleled. The Mangeshkar family and trust established the award in her honor after her passing in 2022 due to multiple organ failure.
