New Delhi: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has purchased a plot of land in Ayodhya, the holy city of Hindus and the birthplace of Lord Ram, for a whopping Rs 14.5 crore. The land is part of a project called ‘The Saryu’, which is being developed by House of Abhinandan Lodha, a leading real estate company based in Mumbai.
The Saryu project
‘The Saryu’ is a luxury residential and hospitality project that aims to offer a spiritual and cultural experience to its residents and guests. The project is spread over 45 acres of land and will have a mix of villas, apartments, and a hotel. The project is located on the banks of the Saryu River, which is considered sacred by Hindus.
The project is scheduled to be launched on January 22, 2024, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of the consecration of Ram Lalla at the Ram temple. The Ram temple is being constructed at the site where the Babri Masjid once stood, and where Hindus believe Lord Ram was born. The Supreme Court of India had given the verdict in favour of the Hindus in 2019, paving the way for the construction of the temple.

Bachchan, who is one of the most revered and influential actors in India, said that he was delighted to buy land in Ayodhya, as the city holds a special place in his heart. He also said that the company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with The Leela Palace, Hotels & Resorts, a renowned hospitality chain, to build a modern palace hotel in Ayodhya. The hotel will offer world-class amenities and services to the visitors of the city.
