Hyderabad: Two transgender doctors in Telangana (: Two transgender doctors) were included in the government services in Telangana. Creating history, Nagender, Superintendent of Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad told that there was a proposal to set up a transgender clinic in Osmania Hospital. There were 3 vacancies for Medical Officers. They have been appointed in this order. An HIV affected person has also been given a chance in this.

Nagender, Superintendent of Osmania General Hospital, 36 doctors had applied for these posts. In this we wanted to give priority to transgender and HIV affected medical profession. We have recruited 3 doctors, 2 are transwomen and one is HIV affected medical officer.

Prachi Rathod and Ruth John Paul, two transgenders in Telangana created history by becoming the first transgender doctors to join the government service in the state. Prachi Rathod and Ruth John Paul, both transgender doctors, have recently started working as Medical Officers in this hospital. He said that he had to bear the social stigma and discrimination since his childhood and it was not so easy to reach here. Now we are happy.

It is a great feeling to treat the patient because they are not looking at us according to our gender but like a doctor. Started this work amid discrimination and stigma since childhood.
