
New Delhi: Last Friday, 16 people have died due to a cloudburst near Amarnath Cave. At the same time, 45 people are still missing. Meanwhile, today i.e. on Saturday, the army started its rescue operation in the morning. In this 6 people have been airlifted. At the same time, the unit of Mountain Rescue Team has also started working hard in search of the missing people.
At the same time, it was told by ITBP that most of the devotees trapped near the holy cave area due to floods have been sent to Panjtarni. ITBP has opened its routes and extended from the lower holy cave to Panjtarni. No devotees are left on the track. Along with this, about 15,000 people have been sent safely.
However, even after this incident, the courage of the pilgrims going for the Amarnath Yatra has not diminished. A new batch of pilgrims for the Amarnath Yatra left for the Baltal and Pahalgam base camps in Kashmir from the Jammu base camp late last Friday night. The journey beyond Luckin and Baltal and Pahalgam has been stopped for the time being.
It is worth noting that on Friday evening at 5.30 pm, there was a sudden cloudburst near the Amarnath cave. According to the information, around 10 to 15 thousand devotees were present near the cave when the cloud burst. Three women are also among those who died in this incident. Later the pilgrims were taken to Panchtarni from near the holy cave.

According to the information received, the incident of cloudburst happened within a radius of 1 to 2 kilometers of the holy cave. At the same time, about 25 tents and two to three langars set up for the pilgrims staying here were washed away by the water that came with a strong current from the mountains. Along with this, the entire area was flooded rapidly due to the horrific rain and many people have been affected by it. Many of these pilgrims are missing and they are feared to be washed away in the strong current.
