A large number of people are struggling with the problem of Alzheimer’s. If any disease is recognized at the right time, then treatment becomes easier. Due to this the disease does not take a more serious form. Scientists seem to be getting great success regarding Alzheimer’s. According to a report in The Sun, scientists at Harvard and MIT have discovered a new treatment technique, which will be able to identify the possibility of Alzheimer’s disease and its occurrence even before its symptoms appear. He says that with its help, Alzheimer’s disease can be treated faster. In the UK, one out of every 14 people over the age of 65 has this disease. Because of this, memory loss and the ability to remember are reduced. Millions of people around the world are rapidly falling prey to this disease.
What did the researcher say?
Dr. Amit Khera, the senior author of this research, says that the team of researchers has found a genetic predictor of Alzheimer’s disease, which will be able to identify the genetic and clinical symptoms of Alzheimer’s before the disease occurs. Surely this discovery will be nominated as a new biomarker of neurocognitive disease. Manish Paranjpe, from MIT in the US and Harvard’s Broad Institute, has developed a method with the help of data from 7.1 million common DNA variants that can predict the risk of Alzheimer’s in a person. For this, with the help of a genetic risk score, researchers will be able to detect the disease by changes in the protein of people at risk of Alzheimer’s.
