New Delhi: The National Commission for Women (NCW) said on Tuesday that it has assured all possible help to the family of the gang-rape victim in the Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. Commission chairman Rekha Sharma released a video saying that the commission had sought an action report from the Uttar Pradesh Police in the matter and it has been reported that four accused have been apprehended and the victim was also compensated.
She said that the commission has approached the victim’s brother and assured him of all possible help. According to Rekha Sharma, a member of the commission will meet the victim’s brother and they will be helped. Significantly, a 19-year-old Dalit girl, who was a victim of gang rape in Hathras, died in Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital on Tuesday morning. On September 14, a 19-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly gang-raped in a village in Chandra police station area of Hathras district. The police have arrested four accused in this case.
