New Delhi: Due to the breach in the data of the recently started private airline Akasa Air, a case of unauthorized access to the information of the users has come to the fore. Akash Air, which started flight operations on August 7, has apologized to its customers for this disturbance and itself has informed the nodal agency Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) about the matter.

Some information exposed
According to the information posted on the company’s website, some temporary technical glitches with regard to login and sign-up services were reported on August 25. “Due to this, the information of registered users of Akash Air such as name, gender, e-mail address, and phone number information became available to some unauthorized persons.

Travel record and payment information not disclosed
The airline has clarified that apart from this information, no other information related to travel or information about travel records and payment has been revealed.

Recently the company started the service
Aakash Air’s journey in the sky started on August 7, 2022. The late Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, a veteran investor in the airline, had a stake of about 47 percent. The first commercial flight of Akasa Air took off from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Union Minister V.K. Singh inaugurated the first commercial flight of Akasa Air. The company received the Air Operator Certificate from aviation regulator DGCA on July 7.
