Airstrikes between Gaza and Israel after tension in Jerusalem

Jerusalem: Rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip to Israel again on Saturday despite the United Nations’ appeal to maintain peace and warn Israeli leaders (Israel) to retaliate aggressively. The violent clash of Palestinians with the Israeli police and the right-wing Jewish groups has increased tensions in Jerusalem.

Violence has occurred between Israel and Gaza across the border in several months. The military said the militants fired rockets towards the town of Sderot in southern Israel, which were intercepted by air security forces. On Saturday morning, militants fired about 36 rockets towards Israel in the Gaza Strip, while Israeli forces also retaliated to targets operated by the ruling Hamas group. These rockets were fired when hundreds of Palestinians clashed with the Israeli police in eastern Jerusalem. At least four policemen and six protesters were injured in these clashes.

During the holy month of Ramadan (Ramzan Violence), these clashes are happening almost every day and there is no hope of stopping them. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he had discussed with top security officials about Gaza and Jerusalem. The Prime Minister said that he has instructed the officials to be prepared for every situation in Gaza. Regarding Jerusalem, he said that Israel would give freedom of worship to everyone and he appealed to maintain peace. United Nations envoy in the region Tone Waynesland condemned the violence and said that the United Nations is working with all sides to maintain peace.
