Bengaluru: With a historic step, a team of women pilots of Air India took the longest direct route from San Francisco to Kempegowda International Airport at Bangalore on the North Pole. It is about 16,000 kilometers.

Captain Zoya Aggarwal said, “Today, we have created world history not only by flying to the North Pole, but also to all women pilots. We are very happy and proud to be a part of it. This route has saved 10 tonnes of fuel. “

Shivani Manhas, one of the four pilots who operated Air India’s San Francisco-Bengaluru flight, said, “It was an exciting experience because it had never been done before.” It took about 17 hours to reach here. “

Prior to the flight, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri had reacted and said, “Air India’s female power flies around the world, our women’s power will achieve a historic achievement.”

It was the first direct non-stop flight between the United States and the west coast of Southern India.
