Kabul: Afghanistan is once again shaken by the blasts. Serial blasts took place here on Thursday at three different places, in which at least 30 people were killed and more than 40 are said to be injured. Police and hospital officials have given this information. The attack took place in the Shia Mosque of Mazar-e Sharif. Islamic State has claimed responsibility for these blasts. At the same time, there has also been a roadside blast in Kabul. A Kabul police spokesman confirmed that two children were injured in the blast. However, most of the blasts so far have been targeted at the minority Shia Muslim community.
Dr. Ghausuddin Anwari of the main hospital of North Mazar-e-Sharif said that there were three attacks in North Mazar-e-Sharif, in which 30 worshipers were killed. While 40 others were injured, they were taken to the hospital in ambulances and private cars. The blast occurred during prayers at the Sai Dokan Mosque, located in northern Mazar-e-Sharif, during the holy month of Ramadan.
At the same time, two children were injured in a roadside explosion in the capital Kabul on Thursday morning. The country’s minority Shia community was targeted by that bomb. The blast took place in the Dasht-e-Barchi area of Kabul.

Targeted educational institutions
Two days ago in the same area, several blasts targeting educational institutions had killed at least six children and injured 17 others. On Thursday, the third explosion occurred in northern Kunduz province.
Matiullah Rouhani, the head of the province’s information and culture department, said the blast targeted a vehicle that was carrying the machine. After several months of relative calm, a series of explosions occurred on Thursday. IS-K has been active in the country since 2014 and is being seen as the biggest challenge to the Taliban in power.
