New Delhi: Serum Institute of India (SII) CEO Adar Poonawala on Friday said that the cost of a booster dose of Covishield is Rs. 600 plus tax and Kovovax (once approved as a booster) will be available at Rs 900 plus tax. At the same time, Poonawalla said that Serum Institute will offer huge discounts to hospitals and distributors offering the booster.
It was announced by the Center that, the booster dose of Covid-19 will be given to adults above 18 years of age and the second dose to adults who have completed 9 months.
The ministry said, “It has been decided to provide precautionary doses of COVID vaccine at private immunization centers for population groups above 18. This facility will be available at all private immunization centers.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Twitter, “The fight against Corona will now be stronger. From April 10, now citizens above the age of 18 years will be able to get precaution doses from private centers. Citizens who have received the second dose of the vaccine for 9 months will be eligible for this.
