The New York Times had told this week that Amazon is planning to lay off 10,000 employees soon. This will include employees of the corporate and technology sectors. This is the biggest layoff in Amazon’s history. It has been said in the report that about 3 percent of the company’s corporate workforce will be reduced. Company spokesperson Kelly Nantel said, after looking at the annual review planning, it has been found that some roles are no longer needed. The biggest impact will be on the device, retail, and human resources divisions.

The company has told that in view of the current economic condition, many officers of the corporate rank have been removed. In the information given to the local authority of California, the company said that about 260 employees related data scientists, software engineers, and other corporate workers will be fired. The termination of these employees will be effective from January 17, 2023.
