New Delhi: A new study has made a very bad prediction for America. The study said that by 2053 America will be in the grip of severe heat where the temperature will be around 51 degrees. This will be the situation in about half of America. There will be many bad consequences of this scorching heat. The area with extremely hot weather is called the extreme heat belt. In such places, the temperature goes above 52 degrees centigrade at least one day a year. According to a new study, by 2053, 100 million of America’s population will be forced to live in such areas.
According to the news of HT, this study has been done by the non-profit organization First Street Foundation. The study used an older review model built with public and third-party data to estimate heat exposure. The study claimed that the weather risk has been assessed on a hyperlocal scale of 30 sqm. According to the study, the extreme heat grade determined by the National Weather Service, which is classified as ‘extreme danger’, is 52 degrees centigrade. By 2023, 81 million people in America will live in the extreme heat category. Worryingly, this summer’s area of influence will grow to such an extent that by 2053 it will affect 107 million people and cover half of the US, 13 times more than it currently is.

According to the report, the geographical area stretching from North Texas and Louisiana to Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin will be in the grip of severe heat. When the relative humidity is combined with the temperature in the air, a temperature index is derived for how the human body perceives it. For this, the researchers developed a model. It tested the Earth’s surface temperature and air temperature measured by satellite between 2014 and 2020, revealing the exact relationship between the two measurements. This information is to be used in further studies to determine how water absorption occurs in these supposedly warm regions and how the distance from surface waters affects coastal waters.
The report also found that the intensity of increase in temperature will be similar at different places. For example, a 10 percent increase in temperature in the northeastern state of Maine could be as dangerous as a 10 percent increase in the southwestern state of Texas. However, the total temperature will be higher in Texas. Currently, the largest projected change in local temperature is in Miami-Dade County, Florida, where temperatures reach 40 degrees seven days a year. According to the study, in 2053 these areas are expected to remain at the same temperature for 34 days.
