Kolkata: The battle started between Governor Jagdeep Dhankar and the Trinamool Congress government is increasing. Meanwhile, the state government has given its approval from the cabinet to a bill to replace the governor with the chief minister as the chancellor of the state-run university. The announcement was given by the state government minister Bartya Basu at a press conference.

The minister said, “Today we have decided that the Chancellor will be the Chief Minister in all government universities instead of the Governor. The state cabinet has approved this amendment. And now it will be introduced in the assembly.

It is to be known that there is a dispute between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Governor Jaideep Dhankhar on one issue or the other. In December last year, the governor had called a meeting of all the vice-chancellors of the university, which no one attended. On which the governor had accused the state government of threatening. Along with this, questions were also raised about the state’s education system.
