Kolkata: Indian Coast Guard ship ‘Kamla Devi’ was launched on Monday. It was launched today by Neela Pathania, wife of Director General Virender Singh Pathania in Titagarh, West Bengal. The complete design of these ‘Fast Patrol Vessels’ has been developed in-house by the GRSE shipyard.
Pathania lauded the shipyard for getting the ship ready for launch within a period of nine months from laying the keel, which is ahead of schedule despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the same time, the Indian Coast Guard tweeted from its official Twitter account saying, “Yard 2118” named ‘Kamla Devi’, 5th in the series of 5 Fast Patrol Vessels indigenously designed & manufactured by M/s GRSE Kolkata, That vision is in line with Make in India, which was launched today by Smt. Neela Pathania, President Tatarakshika in the presence of DGICG and dignitaries.”
