New Delhi: The ninth round of meeting between the Central Government and the Farmer Organizations regarding the Agricultural Bill has ended. Like previous meetings, there is no way out of this meeting. While the farmers remained adamant on their demand, the government has proposed to form a committee for the farmers. The next round of meetings will be held on 15 January.
The decision not made after discussion
Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, who came out after meeting with the farmers, said, “Laws were discussed but no decision could be taken. The government urged that if farmers’ unions are given a choice other than to abort, then we will consider it. But no alternative could be presented, so the meeting was concluded and it was decided to hold the next meeting on 15 January. ”
He said, “Both the farmers union and the government have decided to meet on January 15 at 12 noon. I hope a solution will come out on 15 January. “
Those who support as well as those who oppose
The Agriculture Minister said, “The government has repeatedly said that if the farmers union gives any option other than to withdraw the law, then we are ready to talk. The agitators believe that these laws should be withdrawn. But many people in the country are in favor of these laws. “
Supporting farmers may also join
On the inclusion of the farmers’ organizations supporting the agricultural laws in the meeting, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said, “There is no such idea as of now, we are talking to the agitating side now, but if the need arises The government may consider it in the coming times. “
On meeting the Nanaksar Gurdwara Baba Lakkha Singh, Tomar said, “He was upset that the farmers were agitating in winter. He made us aware of the farmers’ point of view, I presented to the government. I urged him to talk to the leaders of the unions. We did not contact them, they came out of their pain for the farmers and talked to us. “
Parade will be held on 26 January
CPI leader and former MP Hannan Mollah, who walked out of the meeting, said, “There was a heated discussion, we said that we want nothing but repeal of the laws.” We will not go to any court, it will be repealed or we will continue fighting. Our parade on January 26 will be as planned. “
He added, “The government told us to go to court. We are not saying that this new agricultural law is illegal. We are against it. Take them back to the government. We will not go to court. We will continue our protest. “
Nothing accepted except law return
A farmer leader who came out after meeting with the government said, “The meeting has been called again by the government on 15 January. The government is talking about amending the laws, but we will not accept anything except withdrawing the law. ”
Date goes on
Rakesh Tikait, the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, said, “The date is going on. At the meeting, all the peasant leaders in one voice demanded the repeal of the bill. We want the bill back, the government wants an amendment. If the government did not listen to us, we also did not listen to the government. ”
