7 people arrested for black marketing of Remedisvir injections

MUMBAI: The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) and Mumbai Police on Sunday arrested seven people for selling overpriced injections of Remedisvir used to treat Corona on Sunday. He said the accused were selling a vial of injection for Rs 30,000, which was more than the MRP of Rs 5,400. Authorities also recovered a stock of Remedisvir injection after raiding two locations in Mumbai. Officials say that on a tip-off, an FDA official contacted a person over the phone on Saturday to purchase the injection and was taken after the tip-off was confirmed.

A Decoy customer was dispatched to a meeting site in suburban Mulund to collect the vial. Two persons who had come for the injection were first detained and based on the revelations made by them, the police raided the pharmaceuticals located in suburban Ghatkopar and arrested five more people. Police arrested 7 people in the case and registered a case against all the accused under sections 420 (cheating) and 34 (general intent) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
