New Delhi: Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT, which is in the limelight around the world, is being used this time to write letters for loving couples on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. From passing medical exams to helping students complete their assignments to creating new recipes, ChatGPT is now doing everything. A new recent survey shows that 30 percent of men will use AI tools to write love letters on Valentine’s Day. However, the participation of Indians in writing love letters using this AI tool was much higher. 62 percent of Indians reported that they plan to write love letters using Chat GPT.
The Modern Love research report included 5,000 participants from the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, India, Japan, Brazil, and Mexico. The survey questions focused on how AI and the Internet are changing love and relationships. The findings revealed that 27 percent of the participants felt more confident because of anonymity. Another 21 percent cited a lack of time, and 21 percent cited a lack of motivation to write letters as a reason for using ChatGPT. Of the remaining 10 percent of respondents agreed that ChatGPT would be faster and easier to use. However, 49 percent also admitted that they would feel bad if they found out that their partner had not written the letter.
Significantly, now there is not much difference between the letters written by AI bots and humans. McAfee’s study published a love letter and asked adults to identify whether it was written by a human or a bot. The study also shows that it is difficult to differentiate between genuine and fake messages. Most of the 78 percent of Indians surveyed failed to recognize that the letter was written by AI.
