Jammu: More than 50 lakh devotees have visited the world-famous Shri Mata Vaishno Devi cave temple located on the Trikuta hills of Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir in the first six months of the current year.

Official sources gave this information on Tuesday. He informed that from January to June last, 50,43,438 lakh devotees had visited the cave temple. He said, “About six lakh more devotees visited the cave shrine during the said period this year, while 45,96,453 pilgrims visited the cave shrine during the same period last year.”

Sources said the number of pilgrims increased in the months of May-June in view of summer vacations in schools. “At present, around 30,000 to 35,000 pilgrims are reaching Katra every day to travel the 13 km long route to reach the shrine,” he said.

According to official figures, 5,24,189 pilgrims visited the cave shrine in January this year, 4,14,432 in February, 8,94,650 in March, 10,18,540 in April, 9,95,773 in May, and 11,95,844 in the month of June. And visited the mother.
