
Mumbai: According to the big news coming from Maharashtra, a 4-story building collapsed in the Naik Nagar area of Kurla in the capital Mumbai late on Monday night. At the same time, it is being told that there is a strong fear of 20 to 25 people still trapped in the debris of this building. So far 12 people have been rescued from here.
However, the team fire brigade and police are present on the spot since late night for rescue and other arrangements. In this regard, a BMC official said that till now 8 people have been rescued from here, and their condition is stable at present. The rescue work is still in full swing.
According to reports, so far 12 people have been rescued from this debris, while another 10 are still feared trapped in it. A fire brigade official gave this information on Tuesday. While one ‘wing’ of a residential building located in the Naik Municipal Society of Kurla collapsed late on Monday night, there is also a possibility of another ‘wing’ located near it, the official said.

He said that the injured have been admitted to government hospitals in Ghatkopar and Sion and a rescue operation is on to trace the others.
The local people informed them about 20 to 22 people trapped under the debris when fire brigade personnel reached the spot after receiving information about the incident, the official said. He said that apart from around 12 fire tenders, two rescue vans were stationed at the spot.
Here, Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray, who reached the spot as soon as the building collapsed, took a thorough review of the situation. Along with this, he ordered to intensify the rescue operation. He said that around 5-7 people have been rescued. Earlier notices were issued to all the 4 buildings, but despite this people were living here. Our priority is to save everyone. In the morning we will do the work of evacuating and demolishing these buildings so that the people around do not suffer too.” Along with this, he has appealed to the people of Mumbai that whenever BMC gives notice, the place should be vacated quickly so that such untoward incident does not happen again.
