Gadchiroli: Maharashtra Police has killed 26 Naxals in Gadchiroli on Saturday. The C-60 squad of Maharashtra Police has carried out this big work operation. The operation was going on in the Gadchiroli district since 7 am. 4 policemen have also been injured in this operation. He has been sent to Nagpur by helicopter for treatment. Gadchiroli SP Ankit Goyal has given this information. According to sources, the infamous and dreaded Naxalite Milind Teltumbde has also been killed in this encounter. He was also accused in the Bhima Koregaon violence case. He was wanted by the Pune Police in connection with the Elgar Parishad-Koregaon Bhima caste riots. Teltumbde was a member of the Central Committee of the CPI (Maoist).
In this encounter, the police have destroyed many camps of Naxalites. Police had received information about the setting up of a camp by Naxalites in the forest of Elevenbatti, Kotgul area of Korchi taluk of Gadchiroli district. After this, the police team named C-60 decided to intensify the operation against the Naxalites. After this, the team left for the search operation. As soon as the police team reached near the bases, the Naxalites came to know about it. The Naxalites started firing towards the police. After which the police also retaliated and started firing. 26 Naxalites were killed in this very important operation which lasted for several hours.
