
Chhattisgarh: On Saturday, there was an encounter between the security forces and Naxals in the border area of Bijapur and Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. Five soldiers were martyred in this encounter. According to the latest news, 21 soldiers are still missing after this encounter. At the same time, the bodies of 2 of the 5 soldiers who were martyred have also been recovered.
According to Chhattisgarh police sources, 23 jawans injured during an encounter between security forces and Naxalites have been admitted to the hospital in Bijapur, besides 7 martyred jawans have been sent to the hospital in Raipur. At the same time, 15 Naxalites are also likely to be killed in this encounter.

OP Pal, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Chhattisgarh’s anti-Naxal operation, had said that on Friday night, a joint team of Central Reserve Police Force’s Cobra Battalion, DRG and STF from Bijapur and Sukma districts were dispatched for the anti-Naxal operation.
He further told that, this campaign consisted of about 2 thousand soldiers from Tarrem, Ussur and Pameed in Bijapur district and Minapa and Narasapuram in Sukma district. The Naxals started firing on the security forces when the party was in the area. The encounter between them lasted for more than three hours.
