New Delhi: The cases of Coronavirus in the country are seeing increasing day by day. The situation is uncontrollable in many cities. Meanwhile, the campaign for Corona vaccination is also increasing rapidly. In this regard, a question also arises in the minds of people that for how long the natural immunity against the coronavirus infection persists.

A study by the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB) claimed that natural immunity persists against the coronavirus. But 20 to 30 percent of the total infected people have lost this natural immunity after 6 months.

IGIB director Dr. Anurag Aggarwal said in a tweet, ‘The study found that the process of neutralizing the virus in the body of 20 to 30 percent people started to come to an end. This happened when he was seropositive. Dr. Aggarwal says that this 6-month study will be helpful in finding out why there is no relief from infection due to high seropositivity in cities like Mumbai.

Covid research

This research is very important because it can be known that how long will there be a second wave of coronavirus infection in the country. It also shows the importance of vaccines. Research is still going on. But at present, there are many vaccines that are considered important in fighting infections and protecting them from death.

Researchers say that this research will help to know why there are more cases of corona in people in large cities like Delhi and Mumbai, despite having more seropositivity in their bodies. IGIB Senior Scientist Dr. Shantanu Sen Gupta told, ‘In September, we conducted a serosurvey in CSIR’s lab. In this, only 10 percent of the participants had antibodies against the virus. We monitored it for 3 to 6 months and investigated it.
