Lahore: In the capital of Pakistan’s Punjab province, a 14-year-old boy shot and killed his entire family, including his mother and two minor sisters, allegedly “under the influence” of the online game PUBG. Last week, 45-year-old health worker Nahid Mubarak, along with his 22-year-old son Taimur and two daughters aged 17 and 11, was found dead in Lahore’s Kehna area.

The police said in a statement that the woman’s teenage son turned out to be the killer and now he is the only survivor in his family. Police further said, “The boy addicted to PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) confessed that he killed his mother and siblings under the influence of the game. He has got some psychological problems due to playing online games for long hours during the day.

Police said that Nahid was a divorcee and would often scold the boy for not paying attention to his studies and spending most of his time playing PUBG. Police said, “Nahid scolded the boy even on the day of the incident. Later, the boy took out his mother’s pistol from the cupboard and shot him and his three other siblings in their sleep.”

“The next morning the boy raised the alarm and the neighbors called the police. At that time the boy told the police that he was on the top floor of the house and did not know how his family was murdered.

Police said the licensed pistol was kept by Nahid for the safety of his family. Along with this, the police said that the boy had thrown the weapon into the drain after carrying out the incident, from where it could not be recovered yet.
