Lahore: A 126-year-old Shiva temple in Sindh province of Pakistan (26 Year Old Shiv Temple) has been opened to devotees after repair work and its administrative control has been handed over to a local Hindu organization. An official gave this information on Friday. The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETBP), which looks after the shrines of minorities in Pakistan, said it has recently renovated dozens of temples across the country.
ETBP spokesman Aamir Hashmi told PTI-Bhasha “The 126-year-old Shiva temple in Hyderabad, also known as Goswami Purushottam Ghar Nihal Ghar, has been renovated. More area has also been included in the temple so that Hindu devotees can properly conduct their religious rituals. ” He said that the administrative control of the temple has been given to a local Hindu organization.
Hashmi said, “National Minorities Commission Chairman Chala Ram had requested EMPB Chairman Dr. Amer Ahmed to include the area around it in the temple premises so that Hindus can easily travel there and perform their rituals. ” He said that other recently renovated temples include the 1000-year-old Shawla Teja Temple at Sialkot. He said, “The repair work of the temples is going on in Peshawar.”
