117 Indians who returned from Sudan Quarantined

New Delhi: Under Operation Kaveri, 117 out of more than a thousand Indians rescued from conflict-torn Sudan have been quarantined. According to a Times Now report, the Union Health Ministry said that 117 Indians who had not taken the Yellow Fever vaccine have been quarantined. The Ministry of Health is working closely with the Ministry of External Affairs under Operation Kaveri. The ministry said that necessary quarantine facilities are being arranged at transit junctions in mission mode for incoming passengers.

Giving more information, the ministry said that a total of 1,191 passengers have come so far, out of which 117 passengers are currently quarantined because they were not vaccinated against yellow fever. All passengers will be released after seven days if they do not show any symptoms. Let us inform you that the central government is evacuating about 3,000 Indians from Sudan. These passengers are provided accommodation on rent with free food facilities at the Quarantine Centers managed by Airport Health Officers (APHOs) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The ministry informed that the first batch of passengers had reached Delhi with 360 passengers, none of whom required quarantine. After this, the second flight reached Mumbai on 26 April with 240 passengers, of whom 14 were quarantined. The third flight reached Bengaluru on Friday with 360 passengers, of whom 47 were initially quarantined. The ministry said that three of them were released on Saturday after verification of vaccination.
