New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the Prime Minister’s Digital Health Campaign (PM DHM) through video conferencing. What is a Unique Digital Health ID?
The Unique Digit Health ID will be a 14 digit randomly generated number. In this health ID card, complete information related to the person’s health records such as treatment-related tests, reports, medicines, discharge, etc. will be stored. Through this card, doctors will be able to see the complete medical history of the patient. Due to this health ID card, the patient will not need to carry his medical records physically.

How to get Health ID?
First of all, you have to go to the website of the National Digital Health Mission ndhm.gov.in. The option to create a unique digital health card (Create Health ID) will appear. Click on this option, after that you will have to enter your Aadhaar number and after that, you will have to verify by entering OTP. If you want, you can choose to make a health card without giving Aadhaar information. If you want, you can also get a health card made by just giving your mobile number. After giving the mobile number, you will have to verify it through OTP.

Information required to get a Health ID
You will have to give some information including a photo, your date of birth, address for your profile. A form will open in front of you, in which the information will have to be filled. After filling in all the information, a health ID card will appear in front of you, which will contain your information, photo as well as a QR code.

Health ID will be created even if Aadhaar is not linked to mobile?
If the beneficiary opts for his Aadhaar number, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to Aadhaar. However, if he has not linked it with his mobile, then the beneficiary will have to visit the nearest center and opt for biometric authentication using the Aadhaar number. After authentication, a health ID will be generated from the Aadhaar number.

Can children also get Health IDs made?
In the coming time, you will be able to generate the health ID of your child and in this way, you will get the facility to create the health record of the child from his birth. This feature is currently being developed, it will be rolled out soon.

Is health data safe?
Regarding health data, NDHM says that it does not store the health records of anyone. In this, the health record of the person is stored with the healthcare information providers under his retention policy. It is shared in the encryption mechanism on the NDHM network after your approval. No data will be shared without your permission. Through this health ID card, your doctor can see your data only once. If you go to the doctor again, he will have access to you again.

Which features will be rolled out?
You can give access to it to a verified doctor anywhere in the country. The beneficiary can create a health ID for his child and a digital health record from birth. Third, if you are not able to manage your Health ID, you can add a nominee to give access to it. However, this feature is still being developed by NDHM. Soon it will be rolled out.

Is it necessary to have a Health ID?

It is not mandatory to make a health ID. Any person can choose the option to generate Health ID as per his wish. Apart from this, you can opt-out of this ecosystem of NDHM whenever you want. To leave this facility, the user can permanently delete or temporarily deactivate his/her health ID.

What is the benefit of getting a Health ID card?

Due to this health ID card, the patient will not need to carry his medical records physically. If a patient goes from one city to another for treatment, then he will have to carry only his digital health card with him. Under this scheme, hospital clinics and doctors will all be connected to a centralized server.
