
Patna: Under the second phase of the Bihar Assembly Election, polling will be held on Tuesday in 94 assembly seats of 17 districts of the state. In this phase, about 2.85 crore voters will decide the fate of 1500 candidates. In the elections, Nitish Kumar’s path construction minister and BJP MLA Nandkishore Yadav (Patna Sahib), JD (U) MLA and Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar (Nalanda), BJP MLA and Cooperatives Minister Rana Randhir Singh (Madhuban) and JD (U) leader and Minister of State Ramsevak Singh ( Hathua). Harnaut (Nalanda) constituency, which is the village of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is also going to vote in this phase.
Love Sinha, son of Congress leader Shatrughan Sinha from Bankipur seat of Patna is also trying his luck in this phase. His main fight will be with BJP MLA Nitin Naveen.
The Election Commission made all the preparations
According to the information received from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, under the second phase of Bihar Assembly elections, preparations have been completed at the administrative level for voting on 94 Assembly seats on November 3. 41,362-41,362 sets of EVMs and VVPATs have been arranged for all the 41,362 polling stations. In addition, paramilitary personnel has been deployed at all polling stations for fair and peaceful polling. Regarding the Covid Guidelines
Under the Bihar Assembly elections, many precautionary steps have been taken regarding compliance with the Covid guidelines. Preparations have been completed for the disciplined queuing of voters at polling stations. 1278224 bottles of hand sanitizers (100ml), 639156 bottles of hand sanitizers (500ml), 106526 infrared thermometers, 2557882 globs (in glove pairs), 66090800 gloves (one hand) And 1278221 face shields have been provided. For the first time in Bihar Assembly elections, free transport facility has been provided to the disabled voters above the age of 80 years in the state capital Patna City. Digha, Bankipur, Kumharar, Patna Sahib assembly constituencies of Patna district fall under Patna Nagar constituency in the 94 assembly constituencies which are to be polled on November 3 under the second phase of Bihar assembly elections.
Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) Jitendra Kumar said that a sufficient number of paramilitary forces have been deployed in all polling stations and buildings. Local police have been used as a complement to paramilitary forces, wherever necessary. Areas along the rivers will be patrolled by the police and aerial surveillance will be carried out and two helicopters will be used for this. He said that the services of Home Guard personnel would also be taken to the polling booths for tasks like maintaining queues. Jitendra said that as a precaution, all the security personnel deployed on election duty have been given Covid-19 kits.
The constituencies in which polling is to be held under the second phase of Bihar Legislative Assembly are 17 districts of the state, West Champaran, East Champaran, Shivahar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Samastipur, Begusarai, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Nalanda and Patna.
In this phase, a total of 1463 candidates are in the fray, including 146 women and one transgender candidate. There are a total of 2,85,50,285 voters, including 1,35,16,271 women and 980 transgender voters. Maharajganj Assembly constituency has the highest number of 27 candidates and Darauli Assembly constituency has the lowest number of four candidates.
