
Mumbai: Railway has given permission to common women to travel in Mumbai Local from Wednesday. On Tuesday, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted in a tweet that from October 21, all women will be able to travel from 11 am to 3 pm and from 7 pm to the last local in Mumbai local. According to Railway Minister Goyal, the railway is always ready, permission is being given after receiving the letter of the state government on Tuesday. It is noteworthy that the state government had written a letter to the Railways on October 16, recommending the permission of the passenger in Mumbai local for all women. In this regard, the Railways had given a letter to the state government, asking to call a joint meeting to outline the increase in the number of women passengers due to this change and the security parameters accordingly. Caution instructions
Western and Central Railways are currently running 1406 special local services, including 2 women special local trains during peak hours. More than 6 lakh essential workers are traveling from these special local. Railway officials have been instructed to take necessary precautions in view of Corona. In relation to Kovid-19 protocol, social and medical protocols including social distance have to be followed. Railways claim that about one million people can travel safely daily through a total of 1406 local ferries of Central and Western Railways.
5 lakh women travelers will increase
On Wednesday, the number of women passengers on the Western and Central Railway may increase by 5 percent if all women are allowed in local. Lata Argade, president of Tejaswini Railway Women’s Passenger Organization, welcomed the decision of the railway and said that it is necessary to increase local ferries also. He has also demanded to reduce the office hours of working women.
