Dubai: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will send an Unmanned Spacecraft to the Moon in 2024. Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Makhtoum, the ruler of Dubai, announced on Tuesday, on Twitter, to send a spacecraft to the moon.

The Mars mission was launched by the UAE earlier this year, following which the announcement by Al Maktoum came. Al Maktoum said that Yan would be named after his late father “Rashid”.

If the UAE achieves success in 2024, it will be the fourth country after the US, Soviet Union, and China. India had also tried but had failed. Similarly, Israel and Japan also failed.
