Shahdol/ Umaria: The body of a tiger was found on Sunday in Jamuniha village of Beohari range of Shahdol district bordering Panpatha buffer zone of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve of Madhya Pradesh. The corpse, which has completely turned into a skeleton, is several days old and has been buried in the sand. The patrol team has recovered it. It is estimated that after hunting the tiger, the hunters may have buried the body in the ground.
The tiger’s carcass was seen when the soil above was removed
The corpse was not buried in much depth, which is why it appeared when the soil above was removed. The corpse was so rotten that its skin was completely removed and its bones began to melt. It is feared that the tigers may have electrocuted the tiger and for some reason they may not have been able to remove its limbs.
The excuse of the border being created
It is reported that the part of Reserve Forest 177 where the carcass of the tiger has been found, belongs to the boundary of Shahdol district. This area is part of the waterway buffer zone of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve under the boundaries of the Forest Department. However, Bandhavgarh management is not ready to accept at the moment that the tiger belongs to its tiger reserve.
The tiger’s body was autopsied and cremated
On the other hand, Vincent Rahim, field director of Bandhavgarh, says that at present, the body of the tiger has been postmortem and cremated. The matter of boundary will be discussed with the concerned authorities. Here, there is a discussion in the forest department that the dying tiger was definitely from Bandhavgarh as this body has been found in the part of Shahdol district adjacent to the buffer zone of Bandhavgarh. Only the tigers of Bandhavgarh roam in this area.
