New Delhi: BJP’s Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding a detailed inquiry from the CBI and other central agencies in the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The actor’s body was found hanging in his apartment in Mumbai on June 14. Swamy in his letter to the Prime Minister alleged that the actor’s death was not a suicide but a case of murder.
He said that the CBI investigation became “even more necessary” after an FIR was lodged in Patna by the Bihar police on the complaint of Rajput’s father. The Mumbai Police is also investigating this case. Swamy said, “Thus, now two states are investigating the same case arising out of the tragic incident of Sushant Singh Rajput’s unnatural death.” Therefore, it is in the larger interest of justice that a single inquiry should take place…. ”
This is the second letter written by Swami, a Rajya Sabha member to Prime Minister Modi in this case. Swamy said that he has also attached a table with the letter, in which he has given “24 reasons that Sushant Singh Rajput’s mysterious death is actually a murder, not a suicide.” Swamy claimed that there were “substantial multi-dimensional issues related to the untimely death” of the actor, which required a “joint investigation by the CBI with the NIA and ED (Enforcement Directorate)”. He alleged that the terrorist connections and money laundering of Rajput’s “opponents” appeared to be the factors in his death.
Swamy wrote, “I feel that in the larger national interest, your intervention is needed and I request you to take necessary steps to ensure that a thorough investigation is done into the wider national- social, political and security interests. Go as suggested above. “
