Dubai: Many times people in the world have been talking about flying cars, but now this dream is going to turn into reality. Chinese electronic vehicle maker Xpeng Inc. has created a car that will fly in the air to take you to your destination. This futuristic ‘flying car’ made its first public flight in Dubai, the capital of the United Arab Emirates looks very stylish.

According to the company’s official website, the X2 is a two-seater electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) car that is raised in the air by eight propellers. This was the XPENG X2’s first public flight after receiving a special flight permit from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) with over 150 people in attendance, including representatives from the global media.

The very stylish-looking X2 was flown for about 90 minutes during the test flight. The teardrop-shaped design and aerodynamic performance to enhance in-flight performance stunned those in the flight test. According to the company, to reduce weight, the XPENG X2 is made entirely from carbon fiber.

XPENG X2 is a two-seater flying car that emits zero carbon dioxide during flight. XPENG X2 is equipped with two driving modes manual and autonomous which can be started with just one button. The company claims that during an autonomous flight, passengers can take off and land without any worries.

XPENG AEROHT will also release an advanced version of the sixth generation flying car at this year’s 1024 XPENG Tech Day that will be able to fly as well as drive on the road. At present, the X2 car is only capable of flying. The company believes that with the new version, people can drive whenever they want and enjoy their journey even when the road ends. With the help of intelligent driving mode, any person can fly and land it.

Established in 2013, XPENG has successfully completed 15,000 safe manned flights. XPENG has also won several industrial design awards for its engineering so far, including the Red Dot Award, the IF Award, and the IDEA Design Award. The company has designed a full-stack Advanced Driver Assistance System (XPILOT), as well as an Intelligent Operating System (Xmart OS) for a better in-car experience, which makes the flying car extremely safe.
