This action came just a day after Rajesh Shah’s son, Mihir Shah, was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident involving a BMW in Mumbai.

On Sunday morning, tragedy struck in the bustling Worli area when a speeding BMW collided with a two-wheeler. The impact claimed the life of Kaveri Nakhwa (45), who was riding a pillion, while her husband, Pradeep, survived with injuries. The luxury car, allegedly driven by Mihir Shah, rammed into their scooter from behind, leaving devastation in its wake.
The Arrests
Rajesh Shah, the deputy leader of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena in Palghar, found himself in the eye of the storm. He was arrested alongside his driver, Rajrishi Bidawat. Bidawat, who was reportedly present in the BMW at the time of the accident, faced allegations of aiding Mihir Shah in fleeing the scene. The charges against Rajesh Shah included destruction of evidence and making phone calls after the accident.

A Mumbai magistrate’s court wasted no time in sending Rajesh Shah to 14 days of judicial custody. However, he was later granted bail. Meanwhile, Mihir Shah, who had managed to evade the police since Sunday, was apprehended near Virar. The primary investigation revealed that the BMW had struck the two-wheeler from behind, leading to Kaveri Nakhwa’s tragic demise.
